Did they tie Daddy? Ties are the worst because then everyone loses!

Commandment #2, Don’t worship Idols. I’m not going to, but I want to.
Saturday was an exciting day for our family. (I will add pictures to this post later). Tyler scored a goal for the first time! I have started helping coach the girls team so I did not get to watch him play last week. This week he asked before the game if I was going to come watch him. So, I was running over to catch a minute of his game when I saw a ball roll into the goal and the cheers for Tyler erupt. I went over to him and asked what had happened. He shrugged and said, I play soccer. I then asked if he had kicked a goal, he said, “nope I missed it.” By the time he told his uncle and grandpa the story got better, “I kick it higher and higher and up and score!”
Lauren did well and got in the mob of 6-7 year olds and kicked the ball twice. She was pretty excited, and this was a big step for her. Somthing clicked this week for Kara. She has had some nice defensive type kicks so far but no shots on goal. In the 4th quarter she had 4 kicks on goal and 2 goals! It was fun to watch something click mentally that gave her confidence to go after it.
There are just 2 games left in the season. I would encourage anyone from Edgewood to come on out to Lapel and watch a game. There are about 11 kids from our church body that play in the league. All games are played around 10:30 AM.
Lauren turned 6 on Monday!

Kara and Lauren started school today! This is Kara’s first year to go all day, 1st grade, and Lauren started Kindergarten.

I am not a regular at this, but I will probably post more photos in the coming days with School starting and Lauren’s birthday. Last week we found my old baseball uniform and Tyler put it on.

We love you Tyler!
This summer we have focused on helping the teens and children in our church listen to
the sermons and take notes. We have provided outlines and a place for children to draw pictures about what they hear and answer a simple application question. Today Kara was telling me about her sermon notes from last night’s sermon. She said, “At the end of the sermon, I was glued to the sermon. You know how when I watch TV I am glued to the TV, well I was glued to the end of the sermon. Seriously.”

Well we are back from celebrating 10 years and we had a great time! It was great just to be together, and there were so many memories that go with our trip. Let me just leave it at we saw Elvis perform live, and he was almost as good as the eighty year old lady dancing on the stage with him! We also went deep sea fishing for the first time. It was a slow day because the water was so clear, but we both caught some blue runners and I caught a yellow-tail snapper that Heather was able to eat for dinner. There is just something manly about catching your wife’s dinner!
