About

This is the personal blog of Andy Lutz, a pastor at a reformed baptist church in Anderson, Indiana. This blog will contain the Random Thoughts of Pastor Andy as he grows. Sometimes it will be a theological post, a thought about current events, and even events going on in his family life.

Blasted Gourds is a phrase adapted from a John Newton Hymn, I Asked The Lord That I Might Grow. It refers to the gourd plant that grew up to give shade to Jonah after his ministry in Ninevah. The gourd represents the comforts of life that are given by God which he sometimes must remove to cause us to grow.
