End of an Era

Posted in Our Family  by ministerandy on February 5th, 2008

No I am not speaking of plaid jackets, red sweaters, or red raiders (Bob Knight), although that too has come to an end. After 4 trips to Florida, 4 Christmas Tree runs, bringing home Tyler from the hospital, a year and a half of Kindergarten pick ups, 3 Chicago College and Career Trips, 2 Youth Retreats, and many other memories including loud jams to Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash, it is the end of the Blue Bus for the Lutz Family. It ended abruptly last evening on a county road. I was hit in the rear on the passenger side wheel by a car that disregarded a stop sign. It may not look too bad, but notice that the suspension is not working on the van. This is because it is all over the corn field! I was the only one in the vehicle at the time and no one was injured. The sheriff told me to clean it out. I left a French fry and some cracker crumbs. I am sure it is very uncool to admit, but this was the nicest vehicle I have ever owned (yes that is right a mini-van). I had a very nice Grand-Am once, but this van had a V-6 engine, a CD player, a Cub’s Sticker, leveled itself, had a built in air pump, displayed the outside temperature and all that jazz. Unless the sheriff and all others who looked at it are way off there will be no more loading up the blue bus, it is time for a new era.

That’s sad, Andy. We have a Pontiac Montana, too and really like it…

Sorry about your accident. I am so glad just the van was damaged. It was a great vehicle for your family. What did you get to replace? I do not like cars!
